9th Masters’ CRITERION Erfurt/GER

The 9th Masters’ International Speed Skating CRITERION was held in Erfurt/Germany on 01 – 02 Dec 2012 in the nice Gunda-Niemann-Stirnemann-Icehall at perfect fast ice. 118 Masters from 7 Nations (BEL 1, CAN 1, GER 44, NED 48, NOR 16, RUS 6, SUI 2) competed in a 4 distance allround combination (500 m, 1500 m/1000 m, 3000 m) and reached good results.
One IMSSC Record 2012 was broken by Arjan Bakker/NED: 4 distance allround combination (500 m, 1500 m/1000 m, 3000 m) 163,701 points. All participants seemed to be happy at the victory ceremony because of the fine competition, well guided by the jury and organizing team around Marian Thoms and Horst Gebauer. The participants enjoyed also the old town of Erfurt and the wonderful Christmas Market at the Domplatz under the impressive ensemble of two large old romanic/gothic churches, the Dom St. Marien and St.Severi Church (see picture)
