9th MSG 2017 – Inzell

Inzell, this wonderful place with winter weather and landscape, -17°C could nights, sunny days and – on this weekend – a marvelous meeting point for 207 of the world fastest Masters sprint skaters, 56 ladies and 151 men from 14 nations: it’s an absolutely FANTASTIC experience for all, for participants and the Organizers.

After one minute’s silence by the beginning for Frits Roothans from Netherlands (Frits was a “longtime coach” for Masters speedskaters from Nederland, Switzerland and Germany) – he died last week – and also for Alv Gjestvang, a Norwegian masters-sprint skater, who died some weeks ago more than 90 years old… Then the 9th MSG started…

The ice was perfectly prepared, and so it’s no wonder that the athletes got 3 new masters records plus 10 “Inzell Masters-records” and a lot of more PB’s. Tomorrow they will – maybe –  as successful as today.
