By his profession, Ivan is an engineer, with a 50 years long and successful career, but by his passion, he is a professional athlete. Since early age he was involved in sports. He trained a lot and won numerous competitions over the years in cross country skiing, bicycle racing, swimming, running, triathlon and speed skating.
Speed skating is his absolute favorite. He participated in all major national and international competitions for the veterans skaters for many years.
But 2015 was really tough for Ivan… in February he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, had very complex stomach removal surgery, and a long recovery. Nevertheless, he started his training soon enough and participated in Russian national veteran skaters competitions already in November 2015, taking home second and third prizes.
Ivan is a proud father of two daughters, and loving grandfather of two grand daughters. We wish him all the best in health, luck and longevity.
Thank you Dad!
