MIST 2016 – communication

During the weekend of January 18-19 the “10th Masters’ International Single Distance Races 2014” took place in Vikingskipet ice hall, Hamar, Norway. The organizer was Aktiv Skøyteklubb of Oslo. A net total of 108 skaters had made their entry to the competition. This included 14 foreign skaters from FIN, NED, ITA, RUS and SWE. However, there were some last minute withdrawals in this high season of cold and flu. The temperature in the ice hall was a little to low to produce top results. However, for what we can see, there were three new IMSSC Records. Two first time IMSSC Records were set by 82 year old Martin Haakon Fagna, NOR: a 5000m of 14.22,33, and an ordinary allround combination (500-3000-1500-5000) of 297,669 points. Congratulations to the perpetual Martin Fagna! The third record was set by Thor Olav Tveter, NOR, in AG40 big combination (500-5000-1500-10000) with 172,954 points. Congratulations also to him!
