The new ISU board with its new President, Mr. Jan Dijkema, made an important step forward for our Master movement with the renewal of the cooperation between ISU and IMSSC !!! Roland Maillard (ISU Council Member) and Tjeerd Smies (IMSSC President) had a very fruitful meeting on October 4th 2016 where they discussed about synergies andcooperation.
The IMSSC will operate as an independent organization governed by its own rules but with financial help from ISU not only for the IMSSC administration but also for the realization of the Masters’ Games. The IMSSC will use the ISU logo in all communications for Master Sprint and Master Allround Games. Both parties will put links to the respective websites in a prominent position.
Furthermore the IMSSC will help also to promote and develop speed skating as broad as possible and in particular for younger Masters in all countries.
