For generations of skaters, coaches and families, Dave was someone who was there \u2014 helping, travelling, fixing, encouraging and giving his time whenever it was needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was a familiar face at rinks and competitions across the UK, the Netherlands, and further afield and was particularly well known within the Fen Skaters community. Dave gave an enormous amount to our sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What comes through most strongly from those who knew him, though, is not just what Dave did, but the kind of person he was \u2014 selfless, patient, respectful, generous and quietly dependable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dave leaves behind an incredible legacy of friendships, memories and, I am sure, countless stories from his many years involved in speed skating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Pauline, his family and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rest in peace, Dave.
