{"id":69,"date":"2013-02-11T22:47:53","date_gmt":"2013-02-11T22:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imssc.org\/mstr\/2013\/02\/11\/16th-master-cup-in-berlin-ger\/"},"modified":"2024-05-01T16:19:48","modified_gmt":"2024-05-01T16:19:48","slug":"16th-master-cup-in-berlin-ger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/imssc.org\/mstr\/16th-master-cup-in-berlin-ger\/","title":{"rendered":"16th Master Cup in Berlin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left;\" alt=\"berlino 2013\" src=\"images\/berlino_2013.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The 16<sup>th<\/sup> Masters\u2019 International Speed Skating MASTER CUP was held on 09-10 Feb 2013 in the Icehall of the Sportforum Berlin-Hohensch\u00f6nhausen. 63 skaters (11 Ladies and 52 Men) from 7 Nations (BEL 1, CAN 1, GER 26, NED 5, NOR 24, RUS 5, SWE 1) competed on very good ice and reached good results and many <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">personal best times at the 4 distance combinations, which will be skated also <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">at the 22<sup>nd<\/sup> Masters\u2019 International ALLROUND GAMES two weeks later in <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Inzell\/GER: 500 m, 1500 m\/1000 m, 3000 m (F20\u201360 and M65\u201380); 500 m, 3000 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">m\/1500 m, 5000 m (M20\u201360)&#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">All skaters were allowed to skate the fourth <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">distances, 3000 m respectively the 5000 m. Martin Haakon Fagna\/M80\/NOR <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">lowered an IMSSC Record from 2012, 1000 m 1:56,01 min. But it was not a new <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">record because of the better times reached at M80 one week before in Inzell at <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">the 16<sup>th<\/sup> International Masters\u2019 SPRINT CLASSICS (see below). The <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">jury and staff around the competition leader J\u00f6rg Krakow were very competent and lead the competition well. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">After the 4 distance combinations a Team Pursuit for Men (8 laps) and Ladies (6 laps) took place. 2 teams Ladies <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">(GER L20-45 and RUS\/CAN\/GER L40-45) and 4 teams Men (NOR I \u2013 M20-25, NOR II M20-25, GER\/BEL M40-50 and GER M<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">50-65) had a lot of fun. The best times were 3:57,10 min for 6 laps Ladies and <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">4:10,73 min for 8 laps Men. The icehall in Berlin-Hohensch\u00f6nhausen is the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">second place where a Team Pursuit for Masters took place (the first was Kolomna <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">in Russia).
